Launch into All Things New with Jubilee
Join students of PennWest California at Jubilee 2023
November 4, 2022
All things are being made new for Jubilee 2023. This year marks the 46th Annual Jubilee Conference, as students will gather at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The conference will be held Friday, Feb. 17 through Sunday, Feb. 19.
This will be the first in person conference in several years, as last year’s conference was held virtually with an all-day streaming session held in the Convocation Center. When asked about her thoughts for Jubilee returning in person, Senior Secondary Education Social Studies major, Kaydee Taylor, stated, “Seeing that this is the first year in person in a few years I think there will be a really great energy being brought to the convention center and that people will be ready to connect in person.”
Many students may wonder what Jubilee is when they first hear about this conference. It can be described as building connections with fellow students and learning more about the Christian faith. Students from PennWest California are encouraged to attend Jubilee to explore and strengthen their faith with other students from many different campuses.
Jubilee showcases great speakers while giving students the chance to connect with others to truly explore how their faith connects to all aspects of their life. Taylor noted, “It is a way for students to connect with their peers and to dive deeper into their relationship with Christ! There are some great workshops and worship sessions you will attend.”
No matter your level of faith, students are encouraged to attend Jubilee to learn more. Senior Finance Major, Bruce Neterer, stated, “I think it’s important for any student who wants to explore the Christian faith to go and experience it in a healthy way at Jubilee.”
This year’s conference theme is “Jesus Is Making All Things New.” Key topics will focus on: Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Restoration. These topics will be broken up throughout various gatherings during the three-day conference.
If students are interested in attending or learning more, they can contact a Leader of STAND or attend a weekly meeting held on Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. in the Vulcan Theater. Neterer stated that Jubilee is a great conference to challenge us to be better people and ultimately, “…it’s definitely nice to get out of CalU and into the city.”
