VIDEO: Cal U journalism professor reads from his new mystery novel, “The Souls of Clayhatchee”

“The Souls of Clayhatchee: A Southern Tale,” is Carlisle’s first novel, drawing on his experiences as a Black journalist with family ties in the South.
The video also features an introduction by Dr. Christina Fisanick of the English faculty and an in-person interview conducted by Taylor Brown, a Cal U alumnae and reporter for the Mon Valley Independent.
The book reading and signing event in the Chapel of Cal U’s Old Main building was hosted by the Dept. of Culture, Media, and Performance, the College of Education and Liberal Arts, and the English faculty of Cal U.
