The California University of Pennsylvania tennis team released its schedule for the upcoming season on Tuesday afternoon.

The Vulcans were limited to five matches (0-5) last year, including just one match in the spring, before the remainder of the season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The schedule features a total of nine matches this spring, including six against PSAC West members.

Cal U opens the season on Feb. 27 with an indoor match against West Liberty, which posted an 8-1 mark last season, at Wheeling Park. The Vulcans are idle for nearly a month before returning to action versus Fairmont State at Roadman Park on March 20.

Cal U is slated to open PSAC West play with four matches in a two-week span, starting March 27 at Mercyhurst, which won the 2019 PSAC Championship. The Vulcans then host back-to-back matches against Edinboro on March 31 and Clarion on April 3. Cal U travels to Seton Hill on April 10 before playing its final non-conference match of the spring on April 11 at Frostburg State, which is in its second year as a NCAA Division II program.

The Vulcans continue their road trip on April 17 with a match at IUP, which captured back-to-back league titles in 2017 and 2018. Cal U closes the season on April 20 by hosting Slippery Rock at Roadman Park.

Due to the on-going pandemic and dependent upon state and local recommendations, all opponents, dates and times on the schedule are subject to change. Additional information related to attendance and safety protocols at Roadman Park will be announced closer to the start of the season.
