Daily life has changed dramatically in the community surrounding California University of Pennsylvania.

In an effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, the University is temporarily closed, students are taking classes online, staff members are telecommuting, local schools are shutdown, residents are advised to stay home, and many stores are closed after Governor Tom Wolf issued a sweeping shutdown order of “non-life-sustaining” businesses throughout Pennsylvania on March 19.

Here is what the scene looks like along Third Street leading to the entrance of Cal U’s campus on a quiet Thursday morning, March 26, 2020.
