Jonathan Hershey, Staff Writer

Wizard World Comic Con was this past weekend, November 4th – 6th, in Pittsburgh’s David Lawrence Convention Center. It featured a couple of notable pop culture icons such as Marvel’s Daredevil actors Charlie Cox (Daredevil) and Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson) as well as American Horror Story star and X-Men actor, Evan Peters. The voice actors of Mario, the Nintendo character, and Goku, from Dragon Ball franchise, were also in attendance.

The “avocados at law”, a line used in the Netflix series to represent Charlie Cox and Elden Henson’s characters, had individual photo ops as well as a duo photo op and various autograph sessions throughout Sunday. They also had a 30 minute Q&A panel allowing fans to ask questions.

Evan Peters also had his own photo op session, autograph signing and Q&A panel. Peters had an overwhelming support from endearing fans, clearly making him the star of Sunday’s events. Jessica Crosson, the entertainment editor for Cal Times, and I were able to get a photo with Peters after waiting approximately an hour to do so. There were about 15 lines of around 20 people in each line waiting to meet Peters. The support for Peters was very prominent.

Aside from some of notable actors being present, Wizard World Con featured a market place for artists and salespeople to sell their goodies. There was a life like model of Toe Mater for Pixar’s Cars as well as life like statues of Hulk and Iron Man. There were also video game stations for players to play for free.

Wizard World Comic Con was an interesting time allowing fans to meet actors and hear what they had to say. Events like these are growing in popularity and are often associated with cos-players catching the eyes of the attendees.
