Located at 6229 National Pike, Grindstone, our area is home to one of the country’s few remaining drive-ins. It is less than 20 minutes from the California Campus, making it a much closer location for people wanting to see a new movie. The nearest movie theaters in the area are up to 40 minutes away from California.
The Brownsville Drive-in offers three screens; there are six movie options to pick from. Right now, they are only showing movies on Fridays and Saturdays, but eventually, further down in the season, they will open on Sundays as well. They are currently showing only two screens for the April 12-13 weekend, and on Screen 1, they are showing the successful “A Minecraft Movie” and “Paddington in Peru” for the second movie. On-screen 2, they are showing the new horror film “Woman in the Yard,” which makes for a much scarier experience if you’re watching in the dark outside, and the action film “A Working Man” for the second film. The box office opens at 6:30, and the movie starts when it’s fully dark out, but getting there earlier is essential to get a good viewing spot.
The Brownsville Drive-In also offers its concessions, will many different items and sometimes even merchandise from the movies they are showing for attendees to buy.
Tickets for adults are just $10, an excellent price for a two-movie viewing.
You can follow the Brownsville Drive-In on its Facebook page for weekly movie announcements and other information.
