This week PennWest California’s Vulcans Dance team will be flying to Daytona, Florida to compete in the NDA dance nationals. They will leave Wednesday and return early Sunday competing against schools such as Gannon, Vanguard, and even Alma College.

The Vulcans are competing with two numbers. One jazz dance to the song “Set Fire to the Rain” by Adele and a hip-hop dance routine to the song “On the Floor” by Jennifer Lopez. This is the first time our dance team is competing, and they are ecstatic.

The president of the team, Jocelyn Stefancik said, “I’m definitely ready to go! I’ve been researching and planning this trip for almost an entire year now. It’s crazy that it’s finally here. this is the first time that the school’s dance team is going to this competition and it’s an honor to be able to not only oversee the trip but also choreograph both dances!”. She continued saying, “I’m also very stressed, planning a big trip like this where a lot of people are relying on you has been a stressful experience. A lot of time, effort, and panic attacks went into planning this trip, but it will all be worth it when we get there!”
