A fresh break is coming to PennWest California’s student life lineup as the Billiards Club, founded by senior Bradly Martain, gears up for its official launch in Fall 2025.
Fueled by a passion for precision, focus, and camaraderie, mathematics major Bradly Martain envisioned the club as a space where students can unwind, compete, and connect over the classic game of pool.
“Billiards has always been more than just a game to me,” Martain shared. “It teaches patience, strategy, and sportsmanship plus, it’s just a great way to bring people together.”
Whether you’re a seasoned player or someone who’s never picked up a cue, the Billiards Club welcomes all skill levels. The club aims to host regular practice sessions, tournaments, and friendly competitions both on and off campus. Plans for intercollegiate matchups and charity events are also in the works, offering players a chance to sharpen their skills while giving back to the community.
Located in the Natali Student Center game room, the club hopes to revive interest in campus recreational gaming and create a relaxed, social atmosphere where students can decompress and form lasting friendships.
“Billiards is making a comeback,” Martain said with a smile. “We’re building something fun, competitive, and inclusive so rack ‘em up and join us!”
