On Tuesday, April 1, the PennWest Pantry California hosted a meet and greet event in the Natali Student Center Rotunda from 1-2 p.m. Students were given the opportunity to meet Pittsburgh Penguins Goalie Alex Nedeljkovic and Legendary Left Wing Phil Borque. Donations to the pantry were highly encouraged and incentivized with a fun game that had a special set of prizes.

Students who brought a food item with them for donation to the pantry were given a chance to play a mini-hockey game. If they made a shot and scored a goal, their name was then entered into a raffle to win various signed Pittsburgh Penguins jerseys and a $50 BeeGraphix gift card. Cookies and other refreshments were provided by the campus dining services.

Other visitors, mainly local school children, and their teacher chaperones, met with both players before the event and posed for a group photo, with the children showing joyful smiles as they huddled close to the players on each side of them. Although the event lasted for an hour, it gave students an incentive to donate to a program that serves a vital purpose: fighting against hunger on our campus.
