The annual Monster Mash event transformed PennWest California’s Performance Center, located in the Natali Student Center, into a Halloween haven, filled with spooky festivities and collaborative energy. This school-wide celebration, created by major campus clubs like the University Players and Cosplay Club, was hosted this year by the Vulcan Gaming Club alongside a coalition of groups, including the Paranormal Club, Student Activities Board, Student Government Association, Studio 224, Art Club, Geology Club, Cosplay Club, and University Players.
The event, designed to be an engaging on-campus Halloween celebration, featured a variety of themed mini-events that brought students together for a night of fun and frights. Among the highlights were a haunted hallway run by the University Players, a live comedy showcase called the Chuckle Club, a costume contest hosted by the Cosplay Club, and a pumpkin painting station organized by the Art Club. There were also mystery giveaways, raffles, and other surprises. “It was a lot of fun!” shared Tristan, secretary of the Paranormal Club, reflecting on the night’s activities.
Looking toward the future, Monster Mash has the potential to become an even more significant tradition at PennWest California. “If future Monster Mash events can invite more clubs to collaborate, we can create larger-scale events,” said Kyle Bennett, President of the Cosplay Club and Treasurer of the Vulcan Gaming Club. “Monster Mash is a fun Halloween event for both staff and students!”
For anyone thinking of attending next year, the invitation is open: bring friends, family, and a spooky costume to be part of the Halloween fun. “Anyone is welcome!” says Bennett, adding that next year’s attendees can expect even more thrilling activities and the chance to win fabulous prizes.
